After three years of research across Mauritius and Rodrigues, the National Study on Coastal Risks and Resilience has delivered the most comprehensive understanding yet of coastal erosion and flooding. BRGM researchers, together with partners from Météo‑France, the University of Limoges and the University of Mascareignes, are now on the ground to share these findings and listen to your observations.

About the study

This workshop is an extension of the MauRisCot project: "Operational study of coastal risks (coastal flooding and coastal erosion) on the islands of Mauritius (Mauritius and Rodrigues) in the context of climate change". The project was financed by AFD (Agence française de développement), coordinated by BRGM between 2022 and 2025, and carried out with the support of the Ministry of Environment, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change, Météo‑France (Indian Ocean Regional Office), the University of Limoges (UMR 6042 Géolab), the University of Mascareignes (Mauritius), and the AFD Group's Adapt Action programme.
