Beach Carpark

Welcome

CEDTI is an independent research center that provides research studies for territorial and urban development in the Indian Ocean. Our mission is to promote sustainable development during the current climate crisis within the region through innovative research and data analysis. We work closely with local communities, government agencies, and private organizations to identify key challenges and opportunities for growth. Our team  is composed of experts from various fields such as architecture, urban planning, engineering, and geography.

Our Research Studies

At CEDTI, our research is focused on identifying solutions to the complex challenges facing the Indian Ocean region. We use a variety of research methods, such as participatory approach, to gather data that provide insights into local development and environmental issues. Our team of experts has a deep understanding of the region's cultural, political, and economic context, and we work closely with stakeholders to ensure our research is relevant and actionable. Whether you are a government agency, private organization, or community group, we can help you make informed decisions and drive positive change.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS - OPEN

The coastline, a fragile and shifting boundary between land and sea, faces accelerated transformation due to climate, territorial, and economic pressures.

From 18–21 November 2025, CEDTI invites researchers, designers, and practitioners to explore coastal futures at its second international colloquium, “Living on the edge: Coastal Transitions in the Indian Ocean” hosted in Mauritius and online.

Abstracts are welcomed until 31 July 2025 and may align with five key themes: digital transitions, resilient design, territorial skills, creative practices, and geographic change.

Climate change knows no borders.
