Dr. Farrah Jahangeer

Director

Dr. Farrah has a Doctoral Degree from the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow, Scotland. Her research focuses on psychoacoustics in the workplace. Transitioning to research and academia in 2016, she took on the role of Director at the Graduate School of Architecture of Nantes (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Nantes) in Mauritius. In 2023, addressing the challenges of climate change, she founded the Center for Indo-Oceanic Territorial Development Studies (CEDTI) to support resilient territorial and urban development. Since 2017, she has been an associate member of the research laboratory AAU CRENAU in Nantes, France. From 2023 onward, Dr. Jahangeer has dedicated herself entirely to SEFA, another entity in the automotive industry and CEDTI. A fervent advocate for women's representation, she consistently promotes inclusivity in professional domains such as architecture, the automotive industry, and scientific research.

Prof. Laurent Lescop

Scientific Advisor for Digital Transformations

Laurent Lescop, holding a doctorate in sciences with habilitation, is an Architect and a Professor at the Nantes Superior School of Architecture (ENSA Nantes). Additionally, he is an active researcher affiliated with AAU – UMR|CNRS 1563. With a decade of practical experience in the field of architecture, Laurent Lescop has cultivated expertise in computer graphics (CG) and immersive technologies. His professional focus extends to specialization in 3D scanning, modeling, and restitution, particularly within the realms of archaeology, architecture, and scenography. In the course of his career, he has demonstrated a profound understanding of these techniques and their applications, contributing significantly to the fields mentioned. In his dual role as an educator and researcher, Laurent Lescop's primary emphasis revolves around immersion and the utilization of immersive devices for design and visualization. His teachings and research pursuits are dedicated to exploring the potential of these technologies, offering valuable insights and advancements in the realms of architecture and design.

Prof. Nathalie Bernardie Tahir

Research Coordinator for Geography of Transitions

Nathalie Bernardie-Tahir is an Associate Professor and Professor of Geography at the University of Limoges (UMR 6042 Géolab). Her research focuses on insularity and island environments, mainly through the prism of global mobilities (international migrations, migration of amenities, tourism) and environmental changes that participate in the contemporary territorial recompositions of islands, in the Mediterranean (Malta, Cyprus), in the Indian Ocean (Mauritius, Zanzibar) or in French Polynesia.

Dr. Pascal Joanne

Scientific Advisor for Creative Resources & Ambiances

Pascal Joanne is an Architect, Doctor of engineering sciences, Assistant Professor at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Nantes. He teaches architectural and urban design in a Master's programme around the issue of environmental quality. He also supervises a Master's research initiation dissertation seminar. For 6 years, he directed the CERMA (now CRENAU) laboratory of the CNRS Joint Research Unit for Architectural and Urban Atmospheres. He is also in charge of the Masters programme 'Urban Atmospheres and Forms' part of the Master's degree in Urban Environments and Cities (ENSA Nantes, Ecole Centrale de Nantes, University of Nantes). His research projects focus on the construction of ambient references and on the articulation between architectural design and the sensitive qualities of spaces. He has worked on the characterization and restitution of the conditions of comfort in buildings or remarkable sites and more particularly on the architectural spaces of the medieval Cistercian monastery.

Dr. Claudia Enrech

Research Coordinator for Skills for Sustainable Territories

Architect, Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Claudia Enrech is now a pedagogical engineer at IMT Mines Alès. She leads reform projects and the creation of academic and professional programs by skills in France and abroad (Brazil and Mauritius). At the same time, she conducts applied research on Sustainable Territorial Development.

Assoc. Prof. Yann Rocher

Research Coordinator for Resilient Architectures

French architect and curator, Yann has been teaching at the Paris-Malaquais School of Architecture as an associate professor since 2005, where he is currently co-directing the educational program L’entour on exhibition design, also shared by three art schools. Between 1998 and 2008 he worked on the design of more than 25 scenic venues for the Chinese acoustician Yaying Xu, and the architects Fabre & Speller, and Philippe Pumain. In 2013 he conceived the exhibition "Theatres in utopia" at the Saline Royale d'Arc-et-Senans, the Lieu unique in Nantes and the Ferme des tilleuls in Lausanne. And in 2017, the exhibition "Globes. Architecture and science map the world" at the National Museum of Architecture in Paris. His current research topics are dedicated to the wood theatres and the bioclimatic greenhouses (a prototype will be inaugurated in the gardens of the Saline Royale d’Arc-et-Senans in Octobre 2024.

Divakar Moodhoo

Research Programme Coordinator

Divakar Moodhoo is a graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Nantes in Mauritius and Nantes, and also holds a DPEA in Architectural Research from ENSA Paris La Villette. Currently, he holds the position of Coordinator of Research Programs, where he accompanies CEDTI in various projects carried out by the laboratory. He is also a member of the Nou Collective, which aims to spread architectural culture in Mauritius and Rodrigues.
